Lahore – Pakistan (Khyber Mail): The U.S. Consulate General in Lahore has issued an urgent security advisory, instructing all consulate personnel to shelter in place and advising U.S. citizens to evacuate conflict zones or remain indoors following recent drone strikes in the city.

The advisory comes amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India, with reports of airspace incursions and drone explosions in Lahore and surrounding areas. The U.S. Department of State has maintained a Level 3 travel advisory for Pakistan, urging travelers to reconsider visiting due to the escalating military conflict. Additionally, a Level 4 advisory remains in effect for Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Line of Control, warning against all travel due to terrorism and potential armed conflict.

According to reports, a drone was shot down in Lahore, prompting fears of potential airstrikes. Authorities have begun evacuating areas near Lahore’s main airport, while security forces remain on high alert.

The U.S. Consulate’s advisory urges American citizens to leave the country if possible or shelter in place until further notice. Those unable to evacuate are advised to monitor local media, keep identification documents accessible, and cooperate with security forces.

The advisory follows a surge in drone activity across multiple cities, including Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, and Nankana Sahib. The situation remains volatile, with concerns that further airstrikes or military operations could unfold in the coming days.

The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Pakistan have assured citizens that updates will be provided as necessary. Travelers are encouraged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for real-time alerts.
