Hanoi (VNA) – Commemorating the momentous 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations, which began on September 21, 1973, a captivating photo exhibition titled “Vietnam – Japan: Towards the Future, Reaching out to the World” was jointly launched by Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Japan’s Kyodo News on August 3 in Hanoi.
The exhibition showcased a collection of 50 carefully selected large-sized photographs from the archives of both VNA and Kyodo News, providing a panoramic view of the friendly and cooperative ties between Vietnam and Japan over the past five decades.
Addressing the event, Vu Viet Trang, General Director of VNA, emphasized the profound significance of the year 2023 as it marks a milestone in the diplomatic history of both nations. This exhibition aimed to highlight the remarkable achievements in their cooperation over the past half-century, while also shedding light on the immense potential and opportunities for further advancement in their future partnership.
Trang further highlighted the effective collaboration in information and communication between the two news agencies since the 1980s. Throughout their development stages, VNA and Kyodo News have consistently supported each other, not only in bilateral cooperation but also at various multilateral forums. This partnership has allowed them to fulfill their media missions, disseminating official, timely, and modern information to their respective publics and the global audience.
Kyodo President, Toru Mizutani, expressed his sentiment towards the photographs on display, which symbolize the depth of exchange and friendship between Japan and Vietnam across various fields. He underlined the extensive and diverse cooperation that has taken place between the two nations.
