Sana’a – Yemen (Agencies): The Yemeni Houthi movement has announced that it carried out an attack on three American destroyers in the Red Sea.
The announcement was made on Friday during a massive rally in Sana’a, Yemen’s capital, held in support of Gaza and Lebanon.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, stated that the operation targeted the US destroyers using a coordinated effort involving the Yemeni air force, navy, and missile forces
The attack employed 23 drones, as well as ballistic and cruise missiles.
Saree emphasized that this operation was a show of support for the oppressed Palestinian people and the fighters in Gaza and Lebanon, and a response to American and British aggression against Yemen.
He described the attack as the largest naval operation conducted by the Yemeni armed forces in their battle for promised victory and holy jihad.
The rally in Sana’a saw millions gather in Al-Sabeen Square, waving Palestinian and Hezbollah flags and chanting slogans in support of resistance movements in Gaza and Lebanon.
The Houthis have vowed to continue their operations in support of Palestine and Lebanon, with Saree saluting the resistance fighters in both regions.
