Addis Ababa (Agencies): The Ethiopian National Defense Force (FDRE Defense Force) has recently added new Sukhoi Su-30 ‘Flanker’ fighters and Baykar Bayraktar Ak?nc? armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to its arsenal.

The state-owned Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) reported the arrival of these new additions on 16 January, though the exact number of units was not disclosed.

Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, the Chief of General Staff of the FDRE Defense Force, stated in a Facebook post that the force will continue to upgrade its weaponry to protect its airspace from any potential threats. He highlighted that the FDRE air force has now equipped itself with the latest Su-30 fighter jets and Ak?nc? strategic unmanned aircraft.
