Islamabad (Khyber Mail): The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif secured a landslide victory by being elected as Prime Minister of Pakistan with 201 votes in the National Assembly. The election results were announced by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. Shehbaz Sharif’s opponent, Omar Ayub Khan of Sunni Ittehad Council, managed to secure 92 votes.

In an official declaration, the Speaker bestowed the title of Prime Minister upon Shehbaz Sharif and invited him to assume the position of the Leader of the House/Prime Minister in the National Assembly.
