Dear Editor

It is very disruptive to experience the dire state of our roads, every day. The widespread prevalence of bumpy and poorly maintained roads across our country poses a significant threat to the well-being of our communities, with far-reaching consequences for public health.

The condition of our roads not only causes inconvenience and vehicle damage but also poses serious health risks. Constant exposure to uneven surfaces, potholes, and rough terrain contributes to musculoskeletal problems, leading to chronic back and joint pain among commuters. This issue particularly affects individuals with existing health conditions, exacerbating their suffering and limiting their mobility.

Moreover, the persistent jolts and vibrations experienced while traveling on these roads contribute to increased stress levels and fatigue among drivers and passengers. This chronic stress can have profound effects on mental health, impacting individuals’ daily lives and overall well-being.

The need for urgent action by the authorities to address these road conditions cannot be overstated. Investing in proper road maintenance and repair is not merely a matter of convenience but a crucial step towards safeguarding the health and safety of our fellow citizens.

I implore our government and concerned authorities to prioritize the improvement of road infrastructure across Pakistan. Ensuring well-kept and smoother roads is essential to mitigate the adverse health effects faced by our communities daily.

It is time to take decisive action and invest in the well-being of our citizens by improving the conditions of our roads.
