ISLAMABAD (Khyber Mail): The Federal Cabinet has given its approval to the resignation of Lieutenant-General Ayman Bilal Safdar, the Corps Commander of Mangla. He submitted his resignation to the Defence Ministry via the General Headquarters (GHQ), citing personal reasons. The Prime Minister has given his consent to the resignation, which was also ratified by the Federal Cabinet.

The reasons behind the resignation are still shrouded in mystery. The I Corps, which is a significant ground formation of the Pakistan Army, is headquartered in the Mangla Cantonment, Azad Kashmir in Pakistan. The resignation of its commander is a noteworthy event.
