ISLAMABAD (Staff Report): The All Pakistan Universities BPS Teachers Association (APUBTA) delegation comprised of the President APUBTA Dr. Sami ur Rahman, GS Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Jan Dr Malak Alhtar Dr M Iqbal and Mr Jawad Khan had a meeting with the Milli Rahber Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao at Islamabad.
President APUBTA explained the worst consequences of the dual and discriminatory policies of appointment and promotion for teachers of the public sector universities. He explained the grievances of exploitation of the 90 percent teaching community (BPS faculty) and briefed on the progress made by the Chairman NASC Dr Qadir Mandokhail and added that APUBTA is quite thankful for his achievements in resolving the issues of BPS university teachers.
Milli Rahbar Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao very heartedly understood the longstanding issues, the struggles of APUBTA, and the discriminatory policies of HEC that are badly damaging the standards of the highly esteemed institutions in the presence of clear provision of the service structure in the HEC ordinance. The Milli Rahbar Aftab Sherpao expressed serious concern over the discriminatory actions, activities, and negligence of the fundamental rights and assured his support for the BPS community. He also assured that he will discuss with Mandokhail for resolving all BPS faculty problems and will ask him to direct HEC for a special meeting of the Commission of higher education to approve the draft statutes.
The president and cabinet members thanked for taking sincere interest in resolving the longstanding genuine demand of promotion policy of BPS faculty.
