Islamabad (Adnan Hameed): A delegation from the China Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC), headed by Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Political Commissioner Mr. Liu Jianming, held a meeting with Jamal Shah, Interim Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture at the Heritage Division.
The discussions centered on the significance of strengthening cultural ties between Pakistan and China. Minister Jamal Shah commended the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping and emphasized the deep-rooted bond between the two countries. He encouraged Chinese investment in Pakistan’s historical heritage sites, citing Takht-e-Bahi as an example.
Jamal Shah expressed the view that collaborative efforts in the form of cultural exchange and people-to-people contacts through art would enhance the resilience and lasting nature of the friendship between Pakistan and China. He characterized the relationship as “higher than mountains, deeper than the ocean, sweeter than honey, and stronger than steel.”
The Minister disclosed plans for organizing the second China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) cultural caravan. This initiative aims to promote economic ties and reinforce cultural bonds not only between Pakistan and China but also with the Central Asian States. The caravan will include diverse groups of artists, musicians, photographers, anthropologists, writers, and filmmakers from Pakistan, China, and Central Asia.
Deputy Party Secretary Liu Jianming highlighted the longstanding history of cultural exchanges between the two nations. He identified agriculture, tourism, and culture as crucial fields for strengthening people-to-people contacts. Stressing the importance of cultural exchanges, agricultural cooperation, and collaboration in the tourism sector, Liu Jianming stated that these initiatives would contribute to advancing the exceptional friendship between Pakistan and China.
The XPCC delegation included key representatives from various sectors, including agriculture, tourism, culture, and international affairs. The discussion underscored the shared commitment to fostering deeper cultural connections and exploring opportunities for cooperation in multiple fields.
