Lahore (Adnan Hameed): The Embassy of the Republic of Korea marked the culmination of Korean Week with the electrifying 2023 K-POP Concert Night held at Al-Hamra, Lahore Art Council on Friday, December 8th.

The non-commercial, non-ticketed event featured an unforgettable performance by the acclaimed Korean rock band, GAON, who traveled all the way from Korea to captivate the audience. The star-studded lineup also included the renowned K-POP idol, Ms. Namkoog Seeoyoon, who shared the stage with the dynamic Pakistani K-pop group, Dynamite Crew, featuring Mr. Gohar and Ms. Sara. Adding to the international flair, the Korean Language and Culture Center’s girls’ group, ‘Above Top Tier,’ showcased their talent and cultural exchange.

The ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Mr. Park Kijun mentioned in his remarks that music has a profound impact in fostering unity and friendship between two nations. Music transcends borders and has created a universal language. He shared his optimism in regards to the future of the relations between Pakistan and Korea and he was positive that the relations between Pakistan and Korea would grow from strength to strength.

Dr. Jamal Nasir, Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, accompanied by the distinguished presence of the Food Department Secretary. The Minister, during his speech, highlighted that this year commemorates the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Korea. He expressed gratitude to Ambassador H.E. Mr. Park Kijun for bringing cultural festivity to Lahore during these tense times and providing entertainment to the people of Lahore. Minister Jamal Nasir concluded his speech by praising the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Korea, stating, “Long live Pakistan-Korea friendship.”

The Al-Hamra venue was filled to capacity, resonating with the exhilarating performances that left the audience delighted. The 2023 K-POP Concert Night not only showcased the cultural richness of Korea but also strengthened the bond of friendship between the two nations.
