Islamabad (Adnan Hameed): The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) proudly introduced the Heydar Aliyev Auditorium, a tribute to the visionary founding president of Azerbaijan, on the centenary of President Heydar Aliyev’s birth.
Distinguished guests, including Ambassador Khizr Farhadov of Azerbaijan, diplomats from various nations, and esteemed university officials, convened for the official inauguration ceremony. The event, orchestrated by the Embassy of Azerbaijan, spotlighted the life and diplomatic contributions of Heydar Aliyev, underscoring his exceptional role in safeguarding and advancing Azerbaijan’s independence.
Ambassador Farhadov, during the ceremony, expressed gratitude for the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, acknowledging unwavering diplomatic support from the people and government of Pakistan, particularly during the Karabakh war. He emphasized the historic ties between the two nations, noting that Pakistan was the first country to recognize Azerbaijan, fostering enduring public relations.
The Heydar Aliyev Auditorium stands as a symbol of the robust bonds between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, representing the shared commitment to education, culture, and diplomacy. Ambassador Farhadov also informed attendees about a painting exhibition held at NUST, providing a cultural backdrop to the inauguration.
Reflecting on Heydar Aliyev’s official visit to Pakistan in 1996, Farhadov highlighted the pivotal role this visit played in the development of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations.
Dr. Rizwan Riaz, University Pro-Rector, Dr. Anis Sarwar, Principal of NAST Business School, and NUST students actively engaged in the event, showcasing the collaborative spirit defining the relationship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. Dr. Rizwan Riaz emphasized that NUST has already signed relevant memorandums and cooperated with Azerbaijani universities.
