PESHAWAR (KhyberMail): In a significant step towards deepening the bonds of friendship and cultural exchange, an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Sunday between the Local Government, Elections, and Rural Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and China Window, a prominent Chinese cultural center established in Peshawar.

The signing ceremony, attended by key dignitaries including Secretary Local Council Board Mian Shafiqur Rehman, Administrator of China Window Amjad Aziz Malik, Secretary Local Government Dawood Khan, and other officials, marked a commitment to promoting Pakistan-China friendship and fostering cultural and developmental initiatives in the province.

Under the terms of the MoU, a dedicated corner will be established at China Window to showcase and promote development initiatives in KP. Additionally, support will be extended for teaching the Chinese language at Peshawar Municipal School and College. The agreement emphasizes enhancing cultural cooperation and furthering cultural relations between Abbottabad and Kashgar, as well as Peshawar and Urumqi, both of which already hold the status of sister cities.

Secretary Local Government Dawood Khan expressed optimism about the positive impact of the MoU on strengthening the bonds between Pakistan and China. He highlighted the constructive role played by China Window in promoting Chinese culture in Peshawar and emphasized the local government department’s commitment to actively contribute to fostering ties between the two nations.

Speaking to the media, Secretary Dawood Khan stated that the collaboration between the local government department and China Window would extend beyond cultural promotion, encompassing areas such as tourism, education, and industrial development in both countries.

This strategic partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering understanding, collaboration, and mutual development between the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and China. The signing of the MoU marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the longstanding ties of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
