PESHAWAR (Khyber Mail): The national event “Youth Robotec’24,” a three-day extravaganza held at UET Peshawar and organized by the National Center of Robotics and Automation, concluded on April 22nd. The event was lauded by the esteemed Minister for the Higher Education Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Meena Khan Afridi.
The closing ceremony saw Minister Afridi bestowing awards and shields to the victors. The event was also attended by Mr. Sajid Shah, the Director General of Science & Technology (Dost), alongside other government dignitaries and a substantial number of faculty members.
Minister Afridi, during the ceremony, commended UET Peshawar for hosting such an impactful event. He underscored the need to tackle unemployment by introducing market-oriented subjects in educational institutions. He emphasized the importance of aligning academic subjects with the needs of the contemporary world, thereby fostering quality education that guarantees job opportunities in the market.
The Department of Mechatronics, Advanced Robotics and Automation Lab (ARAL) at the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, continues to break new ground in technological innovation. They are committed to addressing real-world problems and contributing to societal advancement.
Minister Afridi’s admiration was not confined to the event. He also visited the Department of Mechatronics, Advanced Robotics, and Automation Lab (ARAL). Struck by the innovative research being conducted there, he said, “The research at the lab, which is focused on precision agriculture and biomedical applications based on the latest trends, has truly impressed me.”
Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khan, Chairman of the Department of Mechatronics and Lab Director of Advanced Robotics and Automation Lab ARAL UET, Peshawar, expressed his gratitude to Minister Meena Khan for his interest and support.
