ISLAMABAD (Agencies): The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is on the verge of reaching a major milestone by diverting the River Indus by the end of this month as part of the Diamer Basha Dam project.
Official sources report that the diversion of the River Indus is underway through an approximately one-kilometer long diversion tunnel and a diversion canal spanning zero point eight kilometers.
The diversion of the river stands out as a crucial step in advancing the implementation of this extensive multi-purpose project.
Anticipated for completion in 2028, the Diamer Basha Dam is set to generate a substantial 4,500 Megawatts of electricity.
