Muscat (Agencies): In the inaugural match of the Hockey 5s World Cup 2024 held in Muscat, Oman, Pakistan emerged victorious against Nigeria with a score of 11-5.
The national team’s victory was spearheaded by Ashraf Rana and Hannan Shahid, who contributed three goals each. Pakistan is set to face off against the Netherlands in its next match this afternoon.
The tournament marks the commencement of the first-ever Hockey5s World Championship, an initiative by the International Hockey Federation.
The championship introduces a unique format featuring five players on each side.
