Damascus (Agencies): In a coordinated joint operation, Syrian and Russian fighter jets have launched airstrikes against terrorist groups operating in the northwestern provinces of Idlib and Latakia.
According to reports, the strikes specifically targeted four terrorist hideouts affiliated with Al-Nusrah Front (Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham) in the western region of Idlib and the Hizb al-Turkestani terror group in the northeastern part of Latakia.
During these aerial raids, nine individuals were killed, with most of the casualties hailing from East Asian countries. Additionally, the joint operation resulted in the destruction of a terrorists’ drone and missile production workshop. The Syrian and Russian armies frequently collaborate on such missions to counter terrorist activities in Syria’s northern and northwestern regions.
The Syrian Defense Ministry recently issued a statement announcing this joint operation with the Russian air force in response to previous attacks by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham in Hama and Latakia. As geopolitical tensions persist, the situation remains closely monitored by the international community
