Damascus (Agencies): Syria reported on Friday that air defense installations in southern part of the country were attacked by Israel, resulting in material damage.
The Syrian Defense Ministry stated, “At 02:55 local time (23:55 GMT on Thursday), Israel initiated a rocket attack from the occupied Palestinian territories targeting an air defense site in the southern part of our country, causing material damage.”
The situation in the Middle East escalated in April when Israel targeted an Iranian diplomatic building in Damascus, Syria. This led to Iran launching its first-ever attack on Israeli soil in retaliation.
On Friday morning, Israel reportedly carried out a series of strikes on Iranian infrastructure, as per various sources. However, the Israeli defense forces have declined to comment on the matter, as reported by media.
